For parents
Short and straight: what this game is, what it definitely does not contain, and how to set it up so that it fits around family life.
How much does the game cost?
Nothing. Pixy Pony is free all the way through: no shop, no subscription, no paid in-game currency, no “premium pony”, no paid levels. A child physically cannot buy anything — there is not a single payment button in the game.
What is definitely not in the game?
This is the part that matters most, so here is the full list with no small print.
- No ads. No banners, no rewarded videos, no “watch a clip and get a star”. Not a single ad impression.
- No purchases. The game is free in full; there is nothing to pay for and nothing to pay with.
- No chat and no contact with other players. This is a single-player game with no networked communication at all — strangers cannot message a child here.
- No accounts and no sign-up. No name, no email, no phone number, no social login.
- No data collection and no third-party analytics. No trackers, no pixels, no ad SDKs, no profiling. Details below and on the Privacy page.
- No outside links inside the game. There is nowhere to “accidentally wander off” to from the game screen. Links to these pages exist only in the settings, and they open in a separate tab.
- No timers and no countdowns. Nothing hurries anyone along, progress does not expire, and there is no “energy” to wait for.
- You cannot lose. No lives, no damage, no enemies, no “you lost” screen. The pony cannot die: a fall ends with a soft landing on the grass.
- No notifications and no “come back soon”. The game never sends anything and never calls anyone back.
Do you collect data about my child?
No. We do not collect personal data, we do not set cookies and we do not use third-party trackers. We do not know who is playing, or how many people are playing. Progress is kept only in the browser on your device and is never sent anywhere.
The one exception is the 🛟 Crash reports tile in the settings. It is off, and only an adult can turn it on by hand. Even when it is on, all it sends are impersonal technical numbers about how smoothly the picture runs: no identifiers, no name, no age, no game progress. It is all spelled out in the privacy policy.
Does the game work offline?
Yes. On the first launch the browser saves the whole game onto the device. After that it opens on a plane, in the car, at the cottage — anywhere with no connection. Nothing needs to be switched on: just open the game once and let it finish loading.
An internet connection is only needed to pick up an update. With no connection, the version already saved on the device opens instead.
How do I add the game to the home screen?
Once it is installed, the game opens from an icon like any other app: full screen, no address bar, and no chance of slipping back into the browser by accident.
iPhone and iPad (Safari)
- Open pixypony.com in Safari specifically (other iOS browsers do not offer this button).
- Tap the Share button — the square with an arrow pointing up, at the bottom or top right.
- Scroll the list and choose Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add. The pony icon appears on the home screen.
Android (Chrome)
- Open pixypony.com in Chrome.
- An Install app prompt often appears at the bottom right away — accept it.
- If there is no prompt: menu (three dots, top right) → Add to Home screen or Install app.
- Confirm. From then on the game launches from the icon.
Computer (Chrome, Edge, Safari)
- Open pixypony.com.
- An install icon appears at the right-hand end of the address bar — a monitor with an arrow, or a “+”.
- Click it and confirm with Install.
- The game becomes its own window in your list of apps. In Safari on a Mac: File → Add to Dock.
How do I turn off sound, music and the voice?
Everything that makes a sound switches off separately. Tap ⚙️ in the top right corner of the game and switch off the tiles you need:
- 🎵 Music — the background tune;
- 🔊 Sounds — jumps, bubbles, the chime of a collected bottle;
- 🗣️ Voice — the spoken letters, numbers and villagers’ lines;
- 📳 Vibration — short buzzes on a phone;
- 💡 Hints — the pop-up tips, once they have outstayed their welcome.
Complete silence means Music, Sounds and Voice all switched off. The settings are remembered and stay the same the next time the game starts.
Keyboard shortcuts on a computer: M — music, V — voice, O — open the settings.
The tablet is old and the game stutters. What can I do?
The game measures how powerful the device is and picks a quality level itself, but you can override it by hand. In ⚙️ Settings, tap the ⚡ Quality tile — it cycles through:
- Auto — the game decides (this is the default);
- Pretty — all the shadows and effects, for powerful devices;
- Fast — fewer effects and details, but a smooth picture. This is the one for an older tablet.
If it still stutters on Fast, these things help:
- close other tabs and apps — the game needs memory;
- launch the game from the home screen icon rather than from the browser: it gets more resources that way;
- switch off vibration and the voice — on very weak devices even this is noticeable;
- put the tablet on the charger: in battery saver mode many devices deliberately slow their graphics down.
How long should one session be?
We suggest 20–30 minutes for children aged 5–7 and up to 40 minutes for older ones, once or twice a day, with a break to look out of the window.
There is nothing in the game that makes stopping hard: progress is saved continuously, an unfinished errand does not expire, no reward disappears. So you can leave at any second — just close the game.
One simple formula makes it easier to agree: “walk the pony back to the castle and then we finish”. The child is left feeling that they ended it themselves, rather than having the game taken away.
This is friendly advice, not medical guidance. Go by your own child and by what your paediatrician says.
Can a child lose the game or get frightened?
No. There are no lives, no damage, no enemies and no defeat screen. If the pony slips off a cloud, she lands softly on the grass and trots on — a fall is not a punishment, just one more try.
There are no scary characters, no chases, no darkness and no sudden loud sounds either. The little spiders in the marsh are deliberately drawn as friendly: they say hello and hand over a cobweb.
How do I reset the progress?
Sometimes it is needed: a child wants to start over, or two children share the tablet. Progress lives only in the browser on this device, so it is cleared together with the site data.
iPhone and iPad (Safari)
- Settings → Apps → Safari → Advanced → Website Data.
- Find pixypony.com in the list and swipe left to delete it.
- Open the game again — it starts from the beginning.
Android (Chrome)
- Open the game and tap the icon at the left of the address bar.
- Choose Site settings (or Permissions) → Clear data.
- Confirm and reload the page.
Computer (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari)
- Open the game and click the icon to the left of the site address.
- Find Cookies and site data → Delete data.
- In Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → find pixypony.com and remove it.
- Reload the page — the progress is clean.
If you play through Telegram: a copy of the progress also lives in the Telegram cloud tied to your account. To clear that one too, open the game in Telegram after clearing the browser data and play through the first steps again — the new save overwrites the old one.
The game will not open, or the screen is black. What now?
- Reload the page — most of the time that is enough.
- Close extra tabs and apps: running out of memory is the most common cause by far.
- Check that the browser is up to date. Really old versions cannot handle 3D graphics.
- If that did not help, clear the site data (see the question above) and go to pixypony.com again.
- Still a black screen — write to us with the device and the browser, and we will sort it out.
